Rome, Capri & Amalfi - Discover ancient history

This tour takes in several significant regions of Italy over an 7 night duration. You can add additional nights or regions to this tour. We've highlighted some of the attractions you will see but this is just a teaser of the full itinerary.
This tour is ideal for an active family and there is an option to include a luxury boat charter which has sleeping capacity for a family of 5 or 6.

When is the best time to visit Italy?

The main touring season begins in March and ends in October, with the months of May through to September being Super High Season. On Capri most hotels commence opening in April and close in late October. Rome, the eternal city, is a year round destination with incredible attractions and history at every corner you turn.

Tour Details

Day 1 - Welcome to Rome

Welcome to Italy. On arrival our English speaking local driver guide will be waiting for you by the chauffeur meeting point and transfer to your central Rome Hotel. Enjoy some light sightseeing and adjust to your new timezone.

Day 2 - Transfer to Sorrento

After a nights rest and light touring of Rome you will be ready to commence the touring. We drive south around 3 hours to the idyllic setting of Sorrento where your boat crew will take you to the stunning island of Capri.

STAY - Luxury Yacht or Hotel Quisisana

Day 3 - Capri

Whether you have stayed on the boat or in one of Capri's amazing hotels you will be fresh and ready to see the beauty and smell the perfumed aromas of this amazing Italian paradise. The Blue Grotto pictured is a refreshing sensation if you get the brief chance to swim there.

STAY - Luxury Yacht or Hotel Quisisana

Day 4 - Capri to Positano

We bid farewell to Capri and head back to the mainland where you will base on the majestic Amalfi coast in the colorful and cosy setting of Positano. You will arrive into the small pier at Positano where the hotel porters will take the luggage though the narrow (car free) streets.

Day 5 - Amalfi Coast

This morning our guide will meet you in the lobby and take you on a day exploring the Amalfi Coast. You will visit the town of Amalfi and the jaw dropping elevated town of Ravello.

Day 6 - Amalfi to Rome.  Pompeii & Montecassino.

Sadly the final stage of our trip has arrived and we will head back north to Rome. Along the way we will visit Pompeii which is a must see iconic Italian attraction. We continue to Rome with a possible visit to Montecassino.

Day 7 - Rome - Vatican & Colosseum

We will start your day today with early access to the Vatican with a private guide. As well as a panoramic walking tour through Rome you will experience a guided tour in the afternoon of the Forum & Colosseum. If you are interested in seeing The Appian Way and Castel Gandolfo we can arrange an evening tour by car.

Day 8 - Depart from Rome

Sadly your week in Italy has come to an end but we are pretty sure you will long to return. If you are considering adding another European destination we can assist with Ireland, Scotland, England & Wales.

There are a number of variables which will determine the cost for the tour. The tour above as outlined could cost as much as €8,000 euros for a family of 5 sharing two rooms and experiencing the private yacht charter for 3 full days. We can tailor the tour to suit a variety of budgets with rates excluding air starting at $4,000 or €3,300. As every one of our client bookings is unique we will do our best to find the tour which suits your tour budget and preferences.
